Manchester dance collective MDNGHT fine tune elements of house, balearic beats and disco to create celestial anthems that glide and grind into the late night ether

With soaring male falsetto vocals that at times echo American legend Smokey Robinson, the
group’s diverse influences range from the classic soul and disco of Chic, the pop-funk of Kool
and the Gang, as well as contemporary artists like German house duo, Booka Shade, Dirtybird label boss and producer, Claude VonStroke and Bristolian dancefloor genre masher, Eats Everything.

On stage, J (vocals) Will and Ant (guitars) perform a live show that has more in common with a club night than a traditional ‘gig’ setting, merging the energy of a live band with the relentless, euphoric excitement of a DJ set. Early live reviews described the bands sound as ‘sophisticated disco inspired house’ with an onstage charisma and energy that, “hits you like a sugar rush”.

MDNGHT have released two taster singles in advance of their upcoming album campaign. The band have had great support from BBC Introducing including single of the week simultaneously on Radio 1 and 1XTRA.

MDNGHT played the Introducing stage at the Radio One Big Weekend 2014. Huw Stephen’s online broadcast, which is also linked to BBC’s US and Canadian partners, will feature one of the bands videos shortly. Huw made the bands beautifully emotive first single ‘Into The Night’ his top tip for 2015 and added the track to his best of BBC Introducing playlister on the Radio 1 website. The track also had over 280,000 YouTube views and reached No.6 in the UK Club chart. DJ Target and Radio1 XTRA have also given strong support.

Second single ‘Breeze’ was premiered by Time Magazine, was featured on MTV World and reached No.3 in the UK Club chart and No.2 in the Hype Machine Chart.

The singles for the upcoming album are currently being produced by legendary Producer Steve Osborne (New Order, Perfecto, U2, Depeche Mode).
